please note: while we try to keep the re-homing page as up to date as possible, it is advisable to ring the number provided with the animal's details to check availability, as they may already have been rehomed, fostered or reserved.

DO YOU WANT TO ADOPT A CAT OR DOG???
Please note, homechecks are done before any of our animals are rehomed and we do ask for a donation, hopefully to help cover the cost of vaccinations, neutering, worming etc.

OUR ADOPTION POLICY

Adoption Conditions:

1. If you do not allow dogs/cats in the house..

2. If your garden is not fully enclosed by walls or secure fencing (not hedges)

3. If there is nobody at home all day (in the case of a dog)

4. If you have children under seven in the family. This is for your child’s protection and the protection of our animals

5. If anybody in the family is unsure about a dog/cat/rabbit/rat/hamster

PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR ONE OF OUR animals AS REFUSAL OFTEN OFFENDS.
..and YES, we do homechecks and follow ups!

DIRECTIONS TO HEATHLAWN SANCTUARY

From Galway take Dublin Road, go through Loughrea 2 miles past Loughrea take right turn to Portumna
Go through Killimor Village (about 10 miles) and 2 miles past Killimor Village you will see "No Verge" sign in orange on left, we are on the right a boreen and there is a sign "Heathlawn".
If you get to a huge electricity Pylon on right, you have gone too far! We are situated between Killimor and Portumna (2 miles past Killimor and 4 miles before Portumna)

3 months for a dog is equal to 5 human years.
6 months = 10 years
One year = 15 years
Two years = 24 years
4 years = 32 years
6 years = 40 years
8 years = 48 years
10 years = 56 years
14 years = 72 years
18 years = 9 years

Rule of thumb: The larger the dog, the shorter the lifespan.
